Account Director

Our Account Director is responsible for the strategic development and expansion of a portfolio of accounts or single major account. The Account Direct will focus on driving sustainable growth by building deep, trusted relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact consulting services. The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-oriented professional with a proven track record of growing client relationships and leading high-performing teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Account Growth: Develop and execute strategic account plans to identify and capitalize on new opportunities for revenue growth within the assigned client portfolio.
- Partnership Collaboration: Experience of working collaboratively and proactively with our Strategic Partners in these accounts (Microsoft, Databricks, AWS, Snowflake, GCP) including experience of working with partner incentive programmes
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with senior-level client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and the primary point of contact for all account matters. Specifically developing and executing account plans, identifying new stakeholders in new areas, and acting as “eyes and ears on the ground” through site presence
- Business Development: Actively identify and pursue new project opportunities, preparing and presenting proposals that address client needs and align with the firm’s full capabilities. Including collaborating with pre-sales team to shape solutions and proposals
- Project Oversight: Collaborate with the delivery and consulting leads of our consulting projects, ensuring they are set up for success. You will be responsible for commercial success and client satisfaction and acting as a primary point of escalation
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the consultants and project managers on the account/s, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Management: Manage overall account profitability, including forecasting revenue, tracking project budgets, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends and competitive landscapes within the retail and financial services sectors to provide informed, relevant advice to clients. Structuring deals leveraging client and partner funding will be crucial to success in the role.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quarter-over-Quarter (QoQ) Account Revenue Growth: Achieve a minimum QoQ revenue growth target for the assigned client portfolio, measured against baseline performance.
- New Opportunity Conversion Rate: Increase the percentage of identified opportunities that are successfully converted into new projects.
- Client Satisfaction Score: Maintain a high client satisfaction score (e.g., NPS or similar metric) for key accounts.
- Cross-Selling and Upselling: Increase the average number of services or projects sold per client account.
- Client Retention Rate: Maintain a high client retention rate, minimizing client churn.

Essential experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a consulting, account management, or business development role, with a strong focus on the retail and/or financial services sectors.
- Good understanding of the broad aspects of data transformation and the business and technology landscape challenges that lead to it
- Demonstrated success in growing and managing a portfolio of large enterprise accounts.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering professional development and a collaborative environment.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Deep understanding of the challenges and trends within the retail and financial services industries.
- Location: Midlands with access to Nottingham or Birmingham
